Citrus, Spice, And Everything Nice Cannabis Negroni

Sophisticated and elegant, the Negroni is a classic cocktail that’s celebrated around the world. Blending together a balanced amount of Campari, gin, and sweet vermouth, this uniquely bitter drink often leaves your palate craving more. While the alcohol content can be quite high in a Negroni, I recommend microdosing this drink with just a dash of cannabis-infused Citrus Spice Bitters (find the recipe in my new book, Cannabis Drinks) to add complexity and aromatics. Drink responsibly and enjoy!

Citrus, Spice, And Everything Nice Negroni

Yield: 1 serving

Target Dose: between 2 mg CBD | < 1 mg THC per spritz (using cannabis-infused Citrus Spice Bitters, find the recipe in the book) or your preferred dose (using commercially made CBD or THC alcohol tincture of your choice, see note below)

Equipment:

Mixing Glass

Barspoon

Old fashioned glass

Ingredients:

1 ounce Campari

1 ounce sweet vermouth

1 ounce gin

1 large ice cube

2 dashes (or ¼ teaspoon) cannabis-infused Citrus Spice Bitters

Orange slice or orange twist to garnish

Directions:

Add the Campari, sweet vermouth, and gin into a mixing glass with ice. Using a bar spoon, stir the mixture for 15 seconds, or until the liquid is fully chilled. Strain into an old fashioned glass filled with one large ice cube, then dot with the Infused Citrus Spice Bitters. Express the oils from an orange slice or twist, then garnish with the orange side up in the glass to continue to release aromatics.

*Note: If you don’t have the supplies to infuse the bitters at home, simply substitute for your favorite unflavored CBD or THC alcohol tincture (not oil!!) at your preferred dose and then add it to the mixing glass before stirring.
